FGI Announces A Revolution In Glass
Float Glass Industries (FGI) has been appointed as the main UK and Ireland distributor and fabricator for Decoran, an exciting new glass in ceramic form that offers the beauty and durability of glass excelling marble and stone. Made from recycled float glass, this unique and versatile material is available in a variety of colours, textures and degrees of opacity, translucency or partial transparency for use in a wide range of applications such as partitions, screens, doors, furniture, counter tops, lighting, kitchen and bathroom surfaces.
Decoran has a sister product under the brand name Structuran which is dedicated for use in external applications including building facades.
Speaking from the 100% Detail Exhibition in London where the Decoran stand was a hive of activity, Roy Offland, Chairman of FGI, said: "I am delighted that Float Glass Industries has been awarded this important role. I believe that Decoran and Structuran represent a milestone in glass development worldwide and we are proud to be the exclusive, main distributor and fabricator appointed in the UK and Ireland. I am in no doubt that we have secured this appointment on the basis of our strong position in the marketplace and our full processing capability at our sites in Manchester. The comprehensive infrastructure we have in place to handle the technical aspects of the product and experience to take these exciting products to new markets in the UK, made us the ideal partner."
Float Glass Industries is able to supply Decoran and Structuran either pre-processed to order or in cut-size or stock sheets to other selected glass processors, who have the machine capability themselves to cut, drill and polish glasses over 15mm in thickness to supply their own customer base.
